But what Fandom Gives is trying to do is harness the immense and inspiring energy of fandom to change the world for the better, so let's see how much of a difference we all make together. Tell us who you donated to, and how much, and at the end of the two weeks, we will be able to see just how big a force for good fandom can be when it wants to be.
Tell us how much you gave, and to whom!

"This donation is offered in honor of the LiveJournal community, fandom_gives, which is a response to the banning of numerous LJ communities and personal journals simply because they listed abuse-related topics in their interests.
We fen would like to make a clear demonstration of the truth that it is possible to explore disturbing content in art, fiction, and reflective pieces, while reviling and actively working against real-life abuse . We offer our support to survivors of rape, incest, and child molestation in the most concrete way we have available."
I sincerely hope that you don't mind.
I figured my donation to that charity was enough of a statement as to my feelings toward its work, so I didn't put a wonderful comment like
Thank you for this community and idea! The money that I'd spend on my now cancelled paid accounts will also be given to the charities listed here in 2008 and beyond.
